For over a decade, I have been so very fortunate to have helped our center of emphasis at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute host its Injury Science Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program. As CIRP's Training Manager, I work closely with CIRP Director of Training Thomas Seacrist to make this 10-week pediatric research internship sponsored by the National Science Foundation meaningful for each class of motivated and talented students from across the country.
Our REU program provides students with not only mentorship (from both peer mentors and principal investigators) and hands-on research experience in the fields of engineering, behavioral science, education, population science, and statistics, but also networking opportunities and educational programming.
Meet the REU Class of 2023

- Shecota Rae Nalwood Nez, Arizona State University
- Iman Naqvi, The College of New Jersey
